A Day of Giving to Remember

You sit at home at night watching the news and see all the news coverage of the charity events and galas. Today i had the extraordinary opportunity to be a part of one that was special. Friedman & Feiger, in conjunction with the Gene & Jerry Jones Foundation and the Playmaker Foundation, put on a dinner and organized a christmas shopping spree for over 150 families through the Salvation Army. Nick & Sams was the place where a needy family was ushered in through the oppulent doors and greeted by volunteers dressed as elves. You got a christmas wish list to walk through over 30 stations of gitf tables and pick out for your wish list. Coats, jewelry, school supplies, blankets, and many other donations were given out. Dallas Cowboys Hall of Famer Michael Irvin showed up as Santa Claus. Its these kind of events that whe you interact with the different people that are there; its a beautful moment. So many volunteers and donations were given that were unsolicited was the real treat. You could see the happiness throughout the place from the families that were present. This was the first event for its kind from Friedman & Feiger and after being a part of something like this, the next will be something even more monumental.
